National literacy club


The Government Senior Secondary School Sakri celebrated a function " National Literacy Club " ahead of Lok Sabha election in its School campus as directed by Election Commissions of India , This function  was celebrated in the 1st week of January 2019.  


This function was  organised under the guidance of  Lecturer in political science Mrs Bandana Rana .The following activities were done in the school.


Role of electoral literacy club


An Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage school students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting. (Electoral Literacy Club ) ELCs are also present in colleges and rural communities. 




At Electoral Literacy Club learning meets fun. Activities and Games are designed to stimulate and motivate students provoking them to think and ask questions. Through ELC, Election Commission of India, aims at strengthening the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters.




Members of electoral literacy club 


Following will be the member of electoral literacy club 

School  : students of   class 9th to + 2 , age 14 to 17 years 
 College : Students of 18 to 21 year 
Rural   communities  (Chunav Pathshala ) all members of the village

The role of the club will also include making students understand the constitutional, legislative and legal provisions, technological innovation, and role of the Election Commission, courts, media and other stakeholders in the poll process.


Taking Oath 


All the students and teachers of Government Senior Secondary School Sakri took oath  to cast their votes considering candidate' elegibielig and and social service and ignoring candidate's cast, creed , religion  and region and bribe  


.  The Oath was read by the student Pankaj Katoch of + 2 class.
Then  principal of the school Mr Sanjay Bhardwaj told the students about the importance of democracy and each voat  for forming democatic  government for the people, by the people and  to the people .

And then all the students  were distributed fruits to celebrate this occasion .
